Cyclone Dana Brings Heavy Rains to Jharkhand
Cyclonic storm Dana has led to heavy rainfall in parts of Jharkhand, prompting an orange alert and school closures in the Kolhan region. With the system weakening, rain intensity is expected to diminish. The NDRF has been deployed in Jamshedpur and Chaibasa for emergency responses.

Parts of Jharkhand were battered by heavy rainfall on Friday due to cyclonic storm Dana, according to the Meteorological Department.
The Kolhan region, including West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharswan, and East Singhbhum districts, experienced light to moderate rain since Thursday night. Other areas reported cloudy conditions with sporadic drizzle.
Meteorologist Abhishek Anand noted the system's weakening over Jharkhand. Kolhan may still encounter heavy rainfall on Friday, whereas central regions like Ranchi could see moderate rain. An orange alert was previously issued for Kolhan on Thursday, leading to school closures. NDRF teams have been stationed in Jamshedpur and Chaibasa, with two standby units in Ranchi for emergencies.
