The Government Railway Police (GRP) have launched an investigation after small stones were placed on a railway track in Garhmalpur, causing an alert from the train staff. The incident occurred Thursday morning as the Saharanpur to Moradabad MEMU train crossed the spot without mishap.

Upon reaching Murshadpur station, the locomotive pilot reported hearing the unsettling sounds of stones being crushed. GRP Station in-charge Pawan Kumar confirmed the discovery during a site inspection.

Authorities are exploring whether the stones were positioned as a child's prank or a deliberate act. This incident aligns with a spate of safety threats, including cylinders and rods, found on tracks across Uttar Pradesh, prompting heightened scrutiny in the state's rail operations.
