Three-Storey Building Collapse Claims Lives In Transport Nagar
A three-storey building in Transport Nagar collapsed, resulting in 3 deaths and 20 injuries. Ongoing rescue operations involve NDRF and SDRF teams, under the supervision of senior officials. Three people were killed and 20 others were injured when a three-storey building collapsed in the Transport Nagar area here on Saturday evening, officials said.
According to the UP Relief Commissioner's office, the injured have been rushed to Lok Bandhu Hospital in the state capital.
Authorities pointed out that three people have lost their lives in the incident, and rescue operations are underway with identities of the deceased yet to be determined.
The collapse occurred around 5 PM at a godown where construction work was ongoing. Built four years ago, the building had been undergoing construction at the time of the incident, police stated. Senior police and administrative officials have been at the scene coordinating the rescue operations.
'Rescue teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been deployed to extricate those trapped,' said Relief Commissioner GS Naveen Kumar.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is closely monitoring the rescue efforts.
