A sanitation worker tragically lost his life on Friday when a garbage-loaded tractor trolley allegedly overturned on him in Najafgarh, southwest Delhi.

The victim, Surendra, hailing from Neelwal village in west Delhi, was employed by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) in ward 129 of the Najafgarh Zone. The fatal incident took place at around 7 am near the Sai Baba Temple on Najafgarh-Uttam Nagar Road. According to the sanitation workers' union, Surendra was sweeping the area just after marking his attendance when the overloaded tractor trolley overturned, crushing him.

The MCD has since announced a financial aid package of Rs 5,42,240 for Surendra's family and has committed to providing daily wage employment for one of his family members. The civic body expressed deep condolences, stating its commitment to supporting the family during this challenging time.
