Hockey India Provides Financial Aid to Unemployed Core Group Players

Hockey India announced a financial assistance of Rs two lakh for the men's and women's senior core group probables who are unemployed. The decision, made during Hockey India's AGM, aims to support players financially. Additionally, the meeting covered national teams' progress, upcoming events, grassroots development, and the forthcoming Hockey India League.

Hockey India has declared financial aid worth Rs two lakh for unemployed players in the senior men's and women's core groups. This initiative was announced during the organization's Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday.

According to Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey, the decision aims to support players who have not secured jobs in government institutions or public sector undertakings. Many players are recognized by PSUs and government departments for their performances in domestic and international meets, but some newcomers in the core group, especially women, remain unemployed.

The AGM also noted the progress of the national senior and junior teams and discussed upcoming events, grassroots development programs, and the potential for deploying former players in coaching roles. Exciting announcements about the forthcoming Hockey India League are expected soon, as stated by HI Secretary-General Bhola Nath Singh.
