Young Boy Injured in Latest Bahraich Wolf Attack

An eight-year-old boy was injured in a wolf attack while playing outside his home in Mahsi tehsil, Bahraich, according to his family.
The boy sustained facial injuries and was hospitalized. Bahraich district has experienced a surge in wolf attacks over the past two months, resulting in eight deaths, predominantly children, and around three dozen injuries.
The local medical college's principal, Dr. Sanjay Khatri, confirmed the child suffered superficial injuries and is now out of danger. Wolf attacks have intensified since mid-July, prompting an extensive search operation involving thermal drones and sensor cameras. The forest department and hundreds of officers are working round the clock to capture the wolves.
Authorities have not yet caught the primary offenders, and efforts include six teams led by IFS officers and experts from the Wildlife Institute of India. The community remains on high alert as the search continues.
