Wayanad Landslides: Search & Rescue Efforts Intensify
Rescue operations were launched in Wayanad following landslides that claimed over 123 lives and injured around 186. The Territorial Army, NDRF units, and other emergency personnel are actively searching for survivors amidst collapsed structures. Additional forces from Thiruvananthapuram and Bengaluru are en route to aid in the operations.

Rescue operations commenced in Wayanad on Wednesday after devastating landslides claimed more than 123 lives and left 186 individuals injured. Units of the army, NDRF, and other emergency services resumed search efforts, focusing on locating survivors beneath the debris of destroyed homes.
A Defence spokesperson indicated that soldiers from the 122 Infantry Battalion of the Territorial Army, temporarily stationed at a local school in Meppadi, were dispatched to the most impacted regions.
The army, along with specially trained disaster relief teams and medical units from Thiruvananthapuram and Bengaluru, are en route to Calicut to assist ongoing operations.
