Gujarat Faces Torrential Downpours: Saurashtra Hit Hard by Floods
Severe flooding impacted several districts in Gujarat's Saurashtra region due to continuous heavy rainfall, cutting off villages and inundating low-lying areas. NDRF teams were deployed for rescue operations. The India Meteorological Department forecast more heavy rainfall till Tuesday. Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya assessed the situation and coordinated relief efforts.

Severe flooding engulfed multiple districts in Gujarat's Saurashtra region on Saturday as relentless rainfall cut off villages and submerged low-lying areas, triggering extensive rescue operations and prompting the deployment of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams.
In Devbhumi Dwarka district, Dwarka taluka recorded 163 mm of rain in 12 hours by 6 pm, followed by Junagadh city and taluka with 133 mm, and Patan-Veraval in Gir Somnath district with 117 mm, according to the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC).
Authorities confirmed that 10 NDRF teams have been dispatched to the affected areas for ongoing rescue and relief efforts to relocate stranded residents from inundated zones to safer locations.
