Union minister Kiren Rijiju has taken a strong stance against Congress minister Zameer Ahmed of Karnataka, accusing him of making a 'racist remark' aimed at former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy. Ahmed allegedly called Kumaraswamy 'Kalia Kumaraswamy,' sparking a heated controversy.
Expressing his disapproval, Rijiju stated, 'I strongly deplore Congress Minister Zameer Ahmed's remark, which targets Union Minister and former Karnataka Chief Minister Sh. Kumaraswamy.'
In a post on social media platform X, Rijiju equated Ahmed's comment with previous instances of racial stereotyping, such as comments made by Rahul Gandhi's adviser about regional appearances.
