Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has issued a bold challenge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, offering to retire from politics if the PM can substantiate his claims that the Congress government gathered Rs 700 crore for campaigns in poll-bound states.
At a rally in Haveri district, Siddaramaiah criticized Modi for spreading falsehoods, demanding the PM's resignation if the allegations remain unproven. He remarked on the unprecedented nature of a PM making false accusations.
The challenge follows Modi's comments at a public meeting in Akola, Maharashtra, where he alleged that Congress in Karnataka extorted Rs 700 crore from liquor businesses. The Karnataka CM has categorically denied these claims, positioning the issue as a significant political confrontation.
