In a heated political exchange, Haryana Chief Minister's Press Secretary, Praveen Atreya, has accused Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala of perpetuating falsehoods and misleading farmers in the state. Atreya claimed that Surjewala's alleged misinformation campaign is a desperate attempt in the face of recent electoral setbacks experienced by Congress.
Atreya's statements followed Surjewala's inquiry into decisions made by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The Press Secretary argued that the Chief Minister's actions demonstrate a commitment to farmers' welfare, citing a recent financial relief to farmers facing low rainfall as evidence of the government's supportive policies.
Previously, Surjewala criticized the Haryana government, accusing it of secretly undermining farmers by abolishing Minimum Support Price (MSP) policies and punishing stubble burning practices without providing market support, suggesting this was a retaliatory measure for farmers' political choices against the BJP.
