Ravi Raja, recently appointed as the vice president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Mumbai, has voiced his dissatisfaction with the Congress party. Raja, who recently left Congress, accused the party of not awarding candidate tickets based on merit. He cited his own experience, highlighting his 25 years of dedicated service in the Sion Koliwada constituency, only to be overlooked for a newcomer.
Expressing his concerns, Raja noted he had contested from the Sion Koliwada constituency five times before. However, he claims the Congress is engaged in favoritism, granting tickets to less experienced members. This, according to him, illustrates the strong undercurrents of nepotism within the party, particularly in Mumbai and Maharashtra.
Raja explained his alignment with the BJP, indicating he has no expectations but seeks to leverage his experience for the party's benefit. He was announced as the BJP Mumbai unit's Vice President by Ashish Shelar and intends to vigorously campaign for Mahayuti candidates throughout Mumbai, aiming to secure victory. Raja lamented the persistent 'parivarvaad' within Congress, culminating in his resignation as he feels his 44 years of service went unappreciated.
