In Assam's Samaguri constituency, the upcoming bypolls will see participation from 11 out of 14 aspirants, as their nomination papers were declared valid after scrutiny, an official statement confirmed.
The review process, delayed by discrepancies in two independent candidates' papers, ultimately led to the rejection of three applications, while others were approved.
Scheduled for November 13, these elections come after the previous representatives vacated their seats to assume roles in the Lok Sabha. Candidates have until October 30 to withdraw their nominations, with votes to be counted on November 23.
