Congress MP G Kumar Nayak has recently come under the scrutiny of the Lokayukta police as part of an investigation into land allocation conducted by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). Nayak confirmed his questioning session lasted two hours, noting his tenure as Mysore District Collector from 2002 to 2005.
Nayak explained that the land in question underwent conversion toward the end of 2005, suggesting that the complaint might misunderstand certain legal aspects. During interactions with the Enforcement Directorate (ED), he articulated the land conversion process was legally sound, underscoring that the land was acquired and systematically notified in 1997-98.
Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara commented on the recent ED summons involving MUDA officers, emphasizing it is premature to draw conclusions. As part of an ongoing investigation, six MUDA-linked employees have been summoned, while CM Siddaramaiah rebuffs money-laundering allegations, attributing them to political targeting. The investigation continues amidst significant political pressure.
