On Tuesday evening, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra arrived in Sulthan Bathery, set to make her electoral debut by filing her nomination for the Wayanad LS bypoll.
During her journey from Mysore, where she and Congress Parliamentary party chairperson Sonia Gandhi arrived, Vadra was warmly received by locals and took time to visit the home of an ex-serviceman. The family warmly welcomed her, sharing intimate and heartfelt conversations.
In a touching moment, the elderly mother of the household gifted her cherished rosary as a symbol of blessings. Later, Priyanka, Sonia, and other senior Congress leaders were expected to gather for a roadshow in Kalpetta ahead of the nomination filing.
