Independent legislator P V Anvar has announced his new social collective, the Democratic Movement of Kerala (DMK), aiming its initial focus on the upcoming bypolls in the Palakkad and Chelakkara assembly constituencies. This development was disclosed by Anvar on Friday, yet he remained reticent about the political intentions or electoral strategies of this group.
During a media interaction, Anvar emphasized that while the DMK plans to be active during the election period, no concrete decision has been made regarding candidate participation. The group intends to present voters with a system that aligns with their ideological stance.
Previously associated with CPI(M), Anvar criticized Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and ADGP M R Ajithkumar, alleging their roles in diminishing the Marxist influence in Kerala. He has sought connections beyond the state, notably meeting Tamil Nadu's ruling party leaders, though without any declared outcome.
