The Congress is in the final stages of preparing candidates for the critical Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections. The Central Election Committee is set to finalize the list after a series of discussions, addressing the complex political landscape in each state.
In Maharashtra, seat-sharing talks between the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition members, including Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP, are ongoing. While internal disagreements have surfaced, particularly between Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT), top leaders have been actively engaging to reach a consensus.
With the Maharashtra polls scheduled for November 20 in a single phase, and Jharkhand's in two phases on November 13 and 20, the focus remains on solidifying alliances and finalizing candidates before the Election Commission's announced deadlines. The votes will be counted on November 23.
