As Jharkhand prepares for its upcoming assembly elections, BJP national spokesperson CR Kesavan has lashed out at the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress alliance, branding it a 'citadel of corruption'. Kesavan accused the alliance of undermining the Constitution, suggesting it prioritizes corruption over democratic principles. He warned that the electorate would reject their governance in November.

In a conversation with ANI, Kesavan stated, "The current government in Jharkhand, formed by the JMM-Congress alliance, represents a major corrupt force in India. Their governance lacks constitutional respect. Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is expected to mislead the public with promises of constitutional protection, but the citizens of Jharkhand are unlikely to be swayed by him. The forthcoming elections will end the reign of JMM and Congress." Jharkhand, with an 81-seat Assembly, will conduct elections on November 13 and 20, while counting is scheduled for November 23.

The BJP has released its first list of 66 candidates for the assembly elections. Aligning with NDA allies—All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal (United), and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP)—the BJP aims to solidify its political presence. Babulal Marandi, BJP's state chief, will vie for Dhanwar, with other key candidates contesting across various constituencies.

Per the current alliance agreement, AJSU will contend for 10 seats, JDU will contest 2 seats, and LJP will focus on the Chatra seat, leaving BJP to contest the remaining 68 seats. Out of Jharkhand's total 2.60 crore eligible voters, there's a significant portion of first-time voters, totaling 11.84 lakh, expected to shape the electoral outcome. (ANI)
