These outfits aimed to dismantle the National Conference but failed as Abdullah secured decisive victories in both the Ganderbal and Budgam constituencies.

Abdullah, a former chief minister, underscored the importance of this victory, stating his gratitude towards supporters in Budgam for their trust. He vowed to fulfill public expectations, highlighting the increased responsibilities his party now faces.

The election result suggests the National Conference-Congress alliance is on track to form the new government in Jammu and Kashmir, as preliminary counts show the alliance leading in 51 seats out of 90, with the BJP holding a lead in 28.
