Mehbooba Mufti Asserts PDP's Key Role in J&K Politics

PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday announced that Jammu and Kashmir will not see a BJP government, emphasizing that no secular government can be formed without her party's support.
Mufti expressed readiness to support the formation of any secular government in Jammu and Kashmir to prevent the BJP from gaining power. Addressing reporters at an election rally, she stated, "Jammu and Kashmir will never have a BJP government. There will be a secular government in J-K, and PDP will be a crucial factor."
She dismissed BJP's claims of winning over 50 seats and appointing a Chief Minister from the Jammu region as unrealistic. Mufti also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's allegations against her family and highlighted her father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's contributions to maintaining peace in the region.
Campaigning in Bisnah, R S Pura, and Jammu, she condemned Modi for labeling the Mufti family as anti-national and misleading people. She praised Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's rule as a golden period and accused the BJP of making empty promises, highlighting issues of unemployment and mismanagement in Jammu and Kashmir.
