Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday urged the people of Haryana not to trust the BJP's poll promises, alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is an expert in 'telling lies' and that the BJP has failed to uphold its commitments.
Speaking at a rally in Badhra, Charkhi Dadri, Kharge criticized the BJP on multiple issues, including farmer demands for debt waivers and legal MSP guarantees. He claimed that voters are inclined to vote Congress into power in the upcoming state elections.
Highlighting the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, Kharge contrasted their principles of truth and non-violence with the alleged falsehoods of the current regime. He also took jabs at the BJP's treatment of farmers and former military personnel, while promoting Congress' poll promises aimed at better governance.
