The BJP-led NDA government, in its initial 100 days, sanctioned infrastructure projects valued at Rs 3 lakh crore, Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Tuesday. These projects include connecting 25,000 unconnected villages via road networks and establishing a mega port in Wadhawan, Maharashtra.

Apart from infrastructure, the government is concentrating on agriculture by increasing the minimum support price (MSP) for Kharif crops, eliminating minimum export price (MEP) on onions and basmati rice, and raising the import duty on crude palm, soybean, and sunflower oils. Alongside Shah, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also addressed these initiatives at a recent press conference.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on his third consecutive term starting June 9. Emphasizing policy stability, Shah noted the government's flexible approach to resolving initial challenges without deviating from core objectives. The government has approved the Wadhwan Mega Port at a cost of Rs 76,200 crore, set to be among the world's top 10 ports. Under the Prime Minister's Rural Roads Scheme-4 (PMGSY-IV), 62,500 km of roads will be constructed or upgraded to connect 25,000 villages, backed by Rs 49,000 crore in central assistance. Additionally, the government is investing Rs 50,600 crore to fortify India's road network, including eight high-speed road corridor projects. The Agrisure fund was also introduced to revolutionize agriculture and support startups and rural enterprises.
