Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris leads Republican Donald Trump 47% to 40% in the U.S. presidential race as per a Reuters/Ipsos poll, showing her edge over Trump on economic and employment issues. However, Trump still holds a significant lead in selected battleground states according to state-by-state results.
In the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll, Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris is leading Republican Donald Trump 47% to 40%, highlighting a shift in voter confidence on economic and employment issues. The poll, which closed on Monday, showed that Harris has managed to narrow Trump's perceived edge on these key topics.
Despite this, Trump maintains an 11-point lead in general economic stewardship, as noted in an August Reuters/Ipsos poll. Additional data from a New York Times/Siena College poll shows Trump leading in three crucial battleground states: Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina.
The poll, which surveyed 1,029 U.S. adults nationwide, including 871 registered voters, underscores the importance of state-by-state performance in the Electoral College, with battleground states playing a critical role in the upcoming election. Among likely voters, Harris leads with a margin of 50% to 44%.
