Former bus marshals in Delhi protested near Lt Governor V K Saxena's office demanding their jobs back, with support from AAP MLAs. Former bus marshals gathered near the office of Delhi Lt Governor V K Saxena, calling for the reinstatement of their jobs, which they lost last year. The demonstration saw support from AAP MLAs Sanjeev Jha and Kuldeep Kumar.
In response to the protest, Delhi Minister Atishi penned a letter to the L-G, urging him to restore the former marshals' positions. She argued that their dismissal was based on 'frivolous grounds,' adversely impacting the safety of women and children on public buses.
Last year, the L-G had approved a proposal terminating the services of these civil defence volunteers. Atishi pointed out that the scheme had been effective for eight years and that their sudden removal disrupted the security measures in place.
