AAP leader Atishi took over as Delhi's Chief Minister on Monday, keeping her predecessor Arvind Kejriwal's chair unoccupied, which BJP and Congress condemned as a significant affront to the office.
Addressing reporters, Atishi cited the Ramayana, comparing her role to that of Bharat, who ruled Ayodhya during Lord Ram's exile. In the Delhi Secretariat, she sat beside Kejriwal's red chair, stating it would remain empty until his return.
Atishi, retaining 13 portfolios including education and finance, vowed to lead for four months ahead of the February elections. She expressed confidence in AAP's victory, while BJP and Congress questioned her legitimacy and equated her to a 'dummy' chief minister.
