BSP chief Mayawati attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Samajwadi Party (SP) on Monday over the recent encounter of Mangesh Yadav in Sultanpur, warning citizens to beware of the 'drama' by both parties. She asserted that no fake encounters took place during her party's rule in Uttar Pradesh.

Mayawati criticized BJP and SP for their reaction to the incident, stating, 'After the encounter in Sultanpur, BJP and SP are forcibly politicizing the issue of crime, criminals, and caste. In truth, both parties are complicit; law and order were far worse under SP rule.' She reminded the public of crimes against Dalits and other disadvantaged groups under the SP government.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath blamed SP President Akhilesh Yadav for sympathizing with criminals, countering, 'During the SP regime, police used to run while goons chased them. Today, the roles are reversed.' Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also weighed in, accusing BJP of operating like 'criminal gangs' and demanding impartial investigations into suspicious encounters. (ANI)
