The BJP on Sunday alleged that the JMM-led government in Jharkhand suspended mobile internet services for over five hours for two days with the intention of disrupting the saffron party's ongoing 'Parivartan Yatra'.

According to the state government, the suspension of mobile internet services from 8 am to 1:30 pm during the Jharkhand General Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination (JGGLCCE) on Saturday and Sunday was to ensure a fair exam.

Jharkhand BJP president Babulal Marandi claimed at a press conference that the suspension aimed to inhibit the Yatra's digital publicity. He also noted that the restriction caused significant inconvenience to the public, particularly businesses that rely heavily on online transactions and individuals who book cabs online.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the BJP's 'Parivartan Yatra' from Sahibganj district on Friday, aiming to challenge the Hemant Soren-led administration.

Despite the suspension, the JSSC recruitment examination proceeded without incident, an official report confirmed, indicating the successful completion of the exam across 823 centers in the state. Around 6.40 lakh aspirants were registered, with a significant number appearing for the tests held over the weekend.
