Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday vowed to end the dynastic dominance of the Gandi, Abdullah, and Mufti families in Jammu and Kashmir, saying they had stifled democracy since independence. Addressing a public gathering, Shah claimed that the grip of these families has been broken and youth are now empowered.

'This election is about ending the rule of three families. For 75 years, the Abdullah, Gandhi, Nehru, and Mufti families have ruled. They had crushed democracy under their feet. After Modi ji came, he held Gram Panchayat and Tehsil Panchayat elections, and today 30,000 youth in Jammu and Kashmir are on the path of democracy,' Shah said, emphasizing that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has revived grassroots democracy in the Union Territory.

Targeting former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, Shah criticized him for being in England when terrorism erupted in 1990. 'Farooq Sahab, terrorism claimed our children while you were enjoying in England. For 30 years, J&K faced shutdowns and halted development. You and your family are to blame,' Shah stated. He also accused Abdullah of denying development to Gurjar, Bakarwal, and Pahadi communities and said opposition claims about removing their reservation are baseless. Shah further announced financial aid for women and increased benefits under the PM-Kisan scheme.
