Delhi Police Nabs Parole Jumper Convicted in Murder Case

The Delhi Crime Branch has successfully apprehended Pintoo Bishwas, a parole jumper who had been convicted of murdering a woman during a house robbery, police confirmed on Saturday. Bishwas, 50, originally from Nadia, West Bengal, had been sentenced to life imprisonment alongside his two associates.
In 2008, a case of house robbery and murder of a woman was registered at P.S. Shakarpur, Delhi. Among the arrested were Manoj, Bishwas, and Santo Pada. Manoj, a domestic helper for the victim, conspired with the others to commit the robbery and subsequently strangled the homeowner to conceal their identities.
Following the investigation, Bishwas and his associates were convicted. After being released on parole in May 2021, Bishwas absconded. The police traced him to his native village in Nadia, West Bengal, after meticulous efforts. Bishwas was monitored through his relatives, leading to his capture and return to Delhi, where he has been re-incarcerated.
