The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) experienced a significant boost on Friday as MP Raghav Chadha welcomed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's bail. Kejriwal, who was arrested in connection with a money laundering probe related to the now-cancelled Delhi excise policy 2021-22, is set to lead AAP's election campaign in Haryana.
The Supreme Court granted Kejriwal bail, terming prolonged incarceration as an unjust deprivation of liberty. Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21, 2024, and later by the CBI on June 26, 2024. Chadha emphasized that the release strengthens the AAP's position.
On the topic of an AAP-Congress alliance in Haryana, Chadha stated that while there were hopes for a united INDIA Alliance contest, the talks did not conclude positively. The people of Haryana, impressed by governance in Delhi and Punjab, seek AAP leadership. Voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana will occur on October 5, with results on October 8.
