Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy paid a visit to Mandya's Nagamangala area on Friday, following incidents of violence triggered by alleged stone-pelting at a Ganesh procession. He lambasted the Congress-led state administration, accusing them of political appeasement and jeopardizing community harmony for electoral gains.
During a press meet in Mandya, Kumaraswamy emphasized his commitment to truth over appeasement politics. He accused the current leadership of exploiting the poor and questioned their governance, urging Congress leaders to refrain from divisive tactics.
He further criticized the Karnataka Home Minister G Parmeshwara for downplaying the event as a 'small incident,' citing police negligence as a significant factor. Kumaraswamy suggested the incident was orchestrated to benefit Congress and demanded compensation for those affected by the violence.
