On Saturday, Karnataka Home Minister G Parmeshwara announced that legal action would be pursued against those found guilty in the Nagamangala incident. The violence erupted on Wednesday in Nagamangala, Mandya district, Karnataka, amid accusations of stone-pelting at a Ganpati immersion procession.

Parameshwara indicated that the state government would review the BJP's fact-finding committee report if it presented any new information. "Let them (BJP) form a fact-finding team and share the facts with us. Legal action will be taken, and police are already investigating. We will consider any new information that surfaces," Parmeshwara told ANI.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi alleged that the attack on the procession was premeditated. "It was a well-planned assault on the Lord Ganesha procession. Despite this, the Congress government denies that it is communal violence, attempting to protect those involved," Joshi claimed.

On September 13, Union Minister of State Shobha Karandlaje called for the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to investigate the incident. "Siddaramaiah is biased against Hindus. Only Hindu individuals have been arrested. An impartial inquiry should be conducted, and the NIA should take over the case to reveal the truth," Karandlaje demanded.

Following the riots, Mandya District Collector Dr. Kumar stated that 54 people had been detained and adequate security forces deployed as a precaution. "The situation is under control, and we have declared a holiday for schools and colleges today. We are also assessing the damages incurred," Kumar told ANI.

According to Mandya Police, seven bikes and six small shops were set ablaze, and a total of 15 bikes and a car sustained minor damages during the incident.
