Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje presented an affidavit to the Madras High Court on Tuesday, expressing her apologies to the Tamil Nadu populace for comments made following the Rameshwaram Cafe explosion in Bengaluru earlier this year.
After the low-intensity blast on March 1 at the well-known cafe, Karandlaje had implicated Tamil Nadu residents in the incident, resulting in her being booked by Madurai police.
Seeking to dismiss criminal charges, Karandlaje stated that her remarks had no intention of hurting sentiments and had already issued apologies via social media. Emphasizing her respect for Tamil Nadu's culture, she once again apologized, requesting the court to consider her apology in the interest of justice. The judge has postponed the case to September 5.
