Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has accused the BJP-led Union government of withholding funds from the state under the Samagra Shiksha scheme due to its refusal to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Stalin labeled this act as unfair particularly when Tamil Nadu is performing well in the education sector.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan retaliated, asserting that Stalin's tactics of pitting states against each other were against the spirit of the Constitution. He emphasized that the NEP was formed through extensive consultations and embodied the collective wisdom of the people.

Moreover, AIADMK's Kovai Sathyan criticized both the Centre and CM Stalin, highlighting the long-standing issue of delayed fund disbursement to Tamil Nadu and accusing Stalin of being more interested in political narratives than addressing critical issues.
