Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has revealed that almost 13 lakh people have joined the BJP in the state within one week of starting a nationwide membership drive.

Sarma stated that the party is on track to exceed last year's membership count of 18 lakh. Speaking at the state BJP headquarters, he noted that the drive includes both membership renewals and new enrollments, with 12.90 lakh members signed up since September 2.

Sarma urged citizens to become BJP members by giving a missed call to a designated number, and mentioned that the membership drive would continue until September 25. He also confirmed that manual forms would be used in areas without internet access to facilitate the process.
