Jammu and Kashmir Congress chief Tariq Hameed Karra emphasized that the upcoming assembly polls are crucial not just for forming a government, but for restoring the state's dignity, statehood, and assembly powers. He is confident that the Congress-NC alliance will succeed. Karra also criticized the BJP and PDP for their roles in the region's current issues.

Jammu and Kashmir Congress chief Tariq Hameed Karra stressed on Sunday that the forthcoming assembly polls transcend merely forming a government or allocating leadership roles. He underscored their significance in terms of 'restoration of statehood and powers of the assembly' along with 'our lost dignity.'
Karra, non-committal about whether the chief minister would hail from the National Conference (NC) in the event of an alliance victory, remarked, 'We can't forecast things that have to follow after the elections.'
Exuding confidence, Karra asserted that the Congress-NC combine is poised to secure a majority in the 90-member assembly. Addressing the PDP's prospects, he noted that the Mehbooba Mufti-led party would likely fail to substantially challenge their chances.
