In a significant political move, Haryana MLA Devender Singh Babli, who was elected on a Jannayak Janata Party ticket, joined the BJP on Monday. This development comes as the ruling party aims to bolster its ranks ahead of the forthcoming assembly elections in the state.

The Tohana MLA, who served as a minister under former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, is expected to be a key figure in the upcoming polls. Babli expressed confidence in the BJP's focus on development and is optimistic about a third term for the party in Haryana.

Along with Babli, two other leaders—Sunil Sangwan, son of former Haryana minister Satpal Sangwan, and Sanjay Kablana—also joined the BJP. The induction ceremony was attended by BJP General Secretary Arun Singh, former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, and Haryana unit President Mohan Lal Badoli. Singh noted a pro-BJP sentiment in Haryana and expressed confidence in the party's victory. Haryana is set to go to polls on October 5, with vote counting scheduled for October 8.
