Congress Unveils Star Campaigners for J&K Assembly Polls

In a strategic move ahead of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, the Congress party has named its star campaigners, including prominent leaders like Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, former party chiefs Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, and AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
The party's list, submitted to the Election Commission, also features notable figures such as Congress general secretaries Jairam Ramesh, K C Venugopal, and Sachin Pilot, as well as Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and his deputy Mukesh Agnihotri, who will campaign in the second phase of the three-phase elections.
Rahul Gandhi has pledged that the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir's statehood will be a priority for the INDIA bloc if they come to power at the Centre, should the Modi government fail to act. The 90-member assembly will hold elections on September 18, 25, and October 1, with vote counting on October 8.
