BJP leader Anil Vij criticized Congress, claiming it lacks the strength to contest Haryana elections on its own and is therefore seeking an alliance with AAP. He described the move as 'cosying up' to AAP due to their weak position.
Insiders from both Congress and AAP confirmed ongoing discussions about an alliance but noted that no agreement has been finalized. The two parties are negotiating seat-sharing arrangements, with AAP seeking 10 seats out of 90 while Congress is willing to offer only seven.
Senior leaders from both parties, including Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha and Congress' KC Venugopal, have held two rounds of talks and are likely to meet again soon. A decision on the alliance is expected shortly ahead of the October 5 elections.
