Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal clapped back at Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday after being criticised for his comments on a trainee doctor's rape and murder in Kolkata.
In a post on X, Sibal noted the prevalence of similar cases in several states, questioning why West Bengal wasn't highlighted. Dhankhar, addressing students at Delhi University's Bharti College, lambasted Sibal for referring to the incident as a 'symptomatic malaise' and suggested such crimes were frequent.
Dhankhar reiterated his stance at another event in Dehradun, urging Sibal to reconsider his comments and issue a public apology, condemning the remarks as deeply harmful and adding to the collective pain.
