AAP Leader Accuses Government of Misuse of Power After Bail Cancellation

Amit Palekar, the Aam Admi Party's Goa unit president, has accused the state government of misusing police and prosecution to target political opponents. His allegations follow a high court ruling overturning a lower court's decision to cancel his bail in a road accident case involving a speeding Mercedes that caused three deaths. Palekar claims the government is acting out of fear of political opposition.

Amit Palekar, the president of Aam Admi Party's Goa unit, has alleged state government misuse of police and prosecution. He contends this is a tactic born out of fear of political adversaries.

Palekar made these claims at a press conference after the Goa bench of the Bombay High Court overturned a lower court's ruling canceling his bail in a road accident case. He asserts that the Crime Branch had sought to cancel his bail on 'false grounds'.

The AAP leader claims he is being targeted due to his exposure of government failings, including an extortion racket in the beach belt and a complaint against the Sunburn festival. Despite allegations of tampering with evidence, Palekar maintains his innocence and suggests a political conspiracy against him.
