Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya has sharply criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of dictatorial tendencies. Vijayvargiya described Banerjee as a contemporary dictator, second only to Hitler, highlighting an alleged nexus between the police, anti-social elements, and politicians in Kolkata.

In a scathing comment, Vijayvargiya cited a recent incident where a rapist allegedly traveled with police, questioning the safety of women in a state led by a woman CM. After visiting Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Smruti Mandir, he emphasized the irony of Banerjee's rule, often described as despotic and devoid of democratic principles.

The criticism coincides with the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) '12-hour Bengal Bandh', protesting police actions during the 'Nabanna Abhijan' march. This protest followed the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata's R G Kar Medical College, stirring nationwide outrage and numerous protests for justice.
