Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren, having resigned from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) just two days ago, officially joined the BJP on Friday.

Soren, accompanied by a sizable contingent of supporters, was ceremoniously inducted into the BJP by Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Veteran politician Soren, known as 'Jharkhand's Tiger' for his pivotal role in the state's formation, emotionally accepted his new affiliation, marking a significant boost for the BJP in courting the Scheduled Tribes ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections.
