Amid sexual harassment allegations stemming from the Hema Committee report, Former Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar highlighted the misuse of power within the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). Chandrasekhar emphasized the need for a safe and non-exploitative working environment for women in all professions.

He expressed disappointment with AMMA's failure to protect female actors, stressing that those guilty should be investigated promptly and not be shielded from consequences. This criticism follows actor Mohanlal's resignation as AMMA's president and the departure of other executive members.

In response to the growing allegations, including those from actor Minu Muneer against her co-stars, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been established by the Kerala Police to delve into cases of abuse and harassment within the Malayalam film industry. The SIT aims to ensure a comprehensive and unbiased investigation.
