Political strategist turned activist Prashant Kishor on Tuesday exuded confidence about raising at least Rs 200 crore for Jan Suraaj, tipped to become a political party in less than two months, through a system of decentralized donations.

The IPAC founder, who hopes to take the political landscape in Bihar by storm, disclosed his strategy here in reply to queries from journalists about his plans to shore up resources for the new party, which will make its debut in assembly polls due next year.

Kishor addressed concerns about funding, differentiating Jan Suraaj from established political parties that rely on hefty donations from illicit businesses. He emphasized that the party will seek small contributions of Rs 100 each from 2 crore people across the state, ensuring that corruption and bribery are eliminated when Jan Suraaj forms the next government.

Ensuring those joining the party that resources won't be an issue, Kishor stressed that the Rs 200 crore target was achievable and likely to increase before elections. He referenced the rise of social media to reassure skeptics of this modern approach to fundraising.

Kishor also highlighted Jan Suraaj's inclusivity, noting the recent addition of former Union minister Devendra Prasad Yadav, who left RJD, and expressed hope for reviving true socialism, critiquing those who merely wear the mask of socialism for personal gain.
