The People's Democratic Party (PDP) unveiled its comprehensive manifesto for the upcoming Assembly elections on Saturday. The manifesto underscores a commitment to restore Jammu and Kashmir's original status, which PDP claims was unfairly stripped away.

During a function held at the party headquarters, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti and other senior party leaders presented their vision, including confidence-building measures (CBMs) and fostering regional cooperation between India and Pakistan. The manifesto denounces the 2019 revocation of Articles 370 and 35A, branding them as unconstitutional.

Significant promises include improving relations with Pakistan through diplomatic means, the establishment of a regional free-trade area, and the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits. The party also pledged to create jobs, ensure local employment rights, and provide various socio-economic benefits like free electricity and water to economically weaker sections.
