On Sunday, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti took a shot at the National Conference (NC) for forging an alliance with its erstwhile rival, Congress, during a rally in Kokernag, Anantnag.

Mufti recounted the history of the NC's social boycott of Congress workers, emphasizing the hardships they endured including divorces and service denials from barbers. She noted that it was her late father, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who turned the Congress into a formidable force in the region.

She also denounced the NC-Congress coalition for the 2024 elections, describing it as a power-sharing rather than a principled alliance. Additionally, Mufti addressed criticism from BJP leaders following the abrogation of Article 370, affirming that people are discontented with the ruling party's actions.
