Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday openly criticized the JMM-led government in Jharkhand, suggesting that the youth's anger would result in electoral consequences for the ruling coalition.

Sarma, a prominent BJP leader, was reacting to an incident in Jharkhand where police deployed tear gas, water cannons, rubber bullets, and baton charges to disperse Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) workers. The workers were protesting against what they view as the Hemant Soren government's failure to fulfill election promises.

Taking to social media, Sarma expressed his disdain, stating, 'I saw the anger of the youth in the pictures from Jharkhand. The JMM-Congress government has ignored it, but remember, governments rise and fall due to the youth's enthusiasm and anger. The youth of the state will break your ego.'

Sarma, who holds the position of election co-incharge for the BJP in Jharkhand, highlighted that the state's assembly elections are due later this year. The police intervened when protesters attempted to march towards Chief Minister Hemant Soren's residence, located near the Morabadi Ground, the rally's venue.
