Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the relevance of Mahatma Gandhi's eternal message of peace in building a harmonious society as he paid floral tribute to the statue of the iconic Indian leader in war-torn Ukraine's Kyiv.

Modi landed in Ukraine after a lengthy trip from Poland to engage in crucial discussions with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy amid Kyiv's current military actions against Russian territories.

At the 'Oasis of Peace' park, Modi honored Gandhi's ideals and highlighted their universal appeal in providing hope. 'Bapu's ideals remain universally relevant and inspire millions,' Modi wrote on X.

The visit also saw Modi discussing potential negotiated settlements to the Russia-Ukraine conflict with Zelenskyy. Additionally, Modi and Zelenskyy paid their respects at the Martyrologist Exposition, commemorating children lost to the conflict. Both leaders emphasized the need to ensure the safety of children in all nations.
