The Congress' Delhi unit staged a demonstration on Thursday demanding the resignation of SEBI chief Madhabi Buch and the formation of a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) to investigate the Adani issue. The protest took place at Jantar Mantar and saw participation from Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav, senior leader Sachin Pilot, Kanhaiya Kumar, and Udit Raj.

During the protest, Pilot questioned the government's hesitation to form a JPC if there was no wrongdoing involved. He emphasized that the Congress seeks only a fair and transparent investigation. Devender Yadav, in a statement, reiterated that a JPC probe would be completely impartial due to the inclusion of representatives from all political parties, including the BJP.

The opposition's demand for Buch's resignation follows fresh allegations by Hindenburg Research against the SEBI chairperson, accusing her and her husband of having stakes in offshore funds implicated in the Adani scandal. Both Buch and her husband have denied these allegations, calling them baseless. The Adani Group has also refuted Hindenburg's claims, labeling them as malicious and manipulative.
